The Guedra is a night-time ritual, traditionally around a fire under the light of the moon or inside a large tent by fire or candlelight. The music is said to spread the soul’s love and peace. Candles represent serenity and the desire for peace. We light candles in memory of loved ones and love the story that just one candle burning in the darkness can be used to light other candles without dimming it’s own brightness. For this treatment, we focus on the light from a candle and use the traditional Guedra drum to represent the heartbeat in the bespoke music. You will be welcomed to the sounds of "The Guedra", the Moroccan drum, a warm candlelit room and the fragrance of Rose Otto permeating your senses. Your Moroccan journey begins with a Candle lighting ritual before settling you on the warm, soft couch in readiness for your massage. A gentle exfoliation to your back begins your massage ~ using fairtrade-sourced, Moroccan black beldi soap and the genuine “hammam spa” kessa mitts, encourages the removal of dead skin cells which will aid new skin growth, leaving the skin feeling smoother and looking more bright and vibrant. The black olive paste is rich in oleic acid and vitamin E – and is a highly potent moisturiser. Your skin is cleansed with warm, soft towels soaked in a refreshing tonic and dried with dry warm towels. With long, flowing massage strokes the exclusive Face The World “Moroccan Rose” massage candle soy wax is gently applied. Melting into the skin, connecting the mind, body and soul allowing you to feel more relaxed and at one with yourself, giving a sense of well being and tranquillity. The natural soy wax, containing sweet almond oil, shea butter, Vitamin E and rose otto oil melts at low temperature … bliss. You will lose yourself in this wonderful treatment. Time will be given at the end of your treatment to fully arrive back at the here and now with a choice of a glass of water or cup of warm herbal tea.
